Day 16
Today I asked everyone on the challenge to focus on the things they love about their children, their family and their friends and be grateful for everything about them….and I was thinking about all the wonderful things I am grateful for in all my friends and family when a quote from Abraham appeared in my inbox and stopped me in my tracks…
“You are always living a reflection of whatever you are outputting. And so, if you get into a little pocket where a lot of people are being rude, it’s probably because you are being rude – or because you have been aware of people being rude. Nothing ever happens to you that is not part of your vibration!”
I was reminded of someone I was great friends with for a long time – but who is no longer a part of my life….seeing this quote clarified why I let go of this particular person and made me realise how grateful I am that she was a part of my life for the time that she was……
This friend was always, always having issues in her life! She would get a parking ticket for standing 5 minutes too long in a parking spot…. she would buy things that didn’t work or that were broken inside the package and she would always have to take stuff back – (which would usually end up with letters being exchanged and threats of legal action), her bosses and her co-workers were mean to her ….. long story short – where she went drama followed…and I was there – like a little puppy, ready to support her, assist her to get what she needed and listen to her constant complaining about how bad her life was.
I haven’t thought about this particular person for a very long time – and I often wondered why she had such a bad time at almost everything she did! Reading those words I now understand exactly…. and I understand how important it was for me that I had my experience with her! I am very grateful.
She was getting back what she was sending out! And while she continued to focus on how ‘bad’ her life was, and how horrible everyone else was being to her – that is exactly what she continued (and may still continue) to attract – in bucket loads!!
So, as you go about your day think about how people are reacting to you are they smiling and friendly and kind……or are they grumpy and rude….. and just take a moment to reflect on what you were sending out during your interactions with others….. be grateful for the experience – good or bad.
